The Symphony of the Forest
By: Allyson Y
The wind, pushing against me and
The bushes' bare faces.
The ferns, growing, tall, and strong.
Not even wind can disturb them.
The birds, chirping and singing, living in their own world.
The trees, some mossy, some not. Some
rely on others to grow.
The forest, full of all sorts of trees, birds, and vegetation.
All contributing to the symphony of noises, making the forest what it is.
Without the symphony of noises,
the forest would fall still and have no life.
The Damage Done
By: Fathi M
Translucent, shallow water
Flowing elegantly,
Splashing rapidly against ridges,
Green vegetation can't make a home
on the hard, unwelcoming sediment.
The sound of the water
calms you,
but the damage done
unsettles you.
You can see the small patches of grass,
scattered, struggling to survive
And you want to help,
But how can one person
Make such a big change?
Then you remember,
that one person built the dam.
Restoration
By: Mikayla King
Water deserves to follow it's own path into the deep
blue ocean
without barriers
Salmon deserve to leap
into the deep blue rapids of the ocean
Trees deserve to absorb cool water in their long
spiraling roots
Restoration takes time
But hopefully soon
The Water, Salmon and trees, get what they deserve
To be free
